Price to Pay for Your Dreams Is Real

There is always a Price to pay!

Never be caught off guard. Always count the cost of any venture that you go into. That way you will be prepared for the inevitable price to pay.

When you start out as network marketer, the obvious cost to you as a new rep is the start-up money. This can be anything between $100 and $500 depending on your opportunity. Once you have paid that start-up money the real action begins.

You need to understand that the investment that will build you a successful business is bigger than the money that you pay to get started. If you had not done the exercise of calculating the full price to pay for you to succeed in your home business, then now is a good time. It is never too late to do a cost/benefit analysis of any venture that you are in. Taking that kind of stock enables you to make necessary adjustments going forward.

I will endeavour to highlight for you the major hard and soft costs that you must be prepared to pay if you are to be successful network marketer.

  1. The First Price To Pay – Your Dignity and Status

Network Marketing is still considered an abstract way of making a living by a lot of mainstream thinkers. So what it means is that 98%, if not all of the people you know will not understand you for taking the route of building a career in this industry. You are going to meet ridicule, resistance, well-meaning advice and even outright disrespect for your choice. Coming from a conventional professional background as a water scientist myself, I know what I am talking about.

Best practice as a new rep is to share your product with your hot or warm market first. Starting out without a success story of your own, the professional colleagues, friends and family members who constitute that first stream of potential customers for you can be the worst people to talk to. The sad thing is that many of them are not brave enough to tell you to your face what they think but will instead send out these innuendos and vibes that say “You have lost it. Shame.” This is when self-doubt sets in. You start questioning your decision to be a network marketing entrepreneur. If you do not prepare yourself mentally to pay the price, you will quit and I do not wish that for you. Be mentally and emotionally geared for it by resolving to stick to your dream no matter what other people say or think.

Now before any red flags start flying and you vow never to tell your warm market about you product and opportunity, read this article I wrote on How To Correctly Engage Your Warm Market

  1. The Second Price To Pay – Time Constraints

My assumption is that you are doing network marketing on a part-time basis for a start. That is how I started as well. This comes with its own challenges. Obviously, you had a life before becoming an entrepreneur. Juggling all the roles that you had before with your business venture will be a challenge. There are time sacrifices that you will have to make to accommodate your business and meet your goals. What kind of time sacrifices will these be? Obviously, if you are in full time employment, those 8-9 hours at work are not available for your business. You have the few hours outside of work to do everything else and then be rested enough to be functional at the office every day. So, where will the sacrifices need to be made? It is in the amount of time you spend socially and with family.

  • You will need to reduce TV or sports watching. Do I hear a moan from the soap loving ladies and the sport-loving guys?
  • Time with family will need to be negotiated to accommodate your business goals. You need to make your family understand that they will see less of you but you will make it worth everybody’s while once you achieve what you set out to do. If You make that promise, discharge yourself well in your business, achieve the promised results and build your credibility with your loved ones.
  • There are chores that friends may have asked you to do for them in the past. It will become more difficult for you to carve out time for such commitments. You need to find a way of dealing with that.
  • Obviously, this list is not exhaustive. I would love to hear from you in the comments below what other time related sacrifices you have had to make to grow your business.
  1. The 3rd Price To Pay – Training Costs

Without a doubt, training (Team and Corporate) will play a significant role in growing your business. You will also need to purchase personal development books, audios and videos. Chances are when you saw the presentation and decided to become a rep, you really had not been looking to become a business owner that day. That means you probably have no experience as an entrepreneur. Team and Corporate training will help you with developing the skills that you need for success. Personal development training will build you up as an individual to have the mental capacity and emotional intelligence to grow your business into a flourishing entity. Training will cost you in money as well as time. With regards the money I love our profession because we get paid as we learn. It is possible for you to raise the money to cover training from initial product sales that you make on your way to greatness. With regards to time, see (2) above.

As you face the challenge of paying for the above 3 costs keep this in mind: Anything worth having has a high cost of acquisition. If you are willing to pay the price, the glorious benefits of becoming a successful network marketing entrepreneur will be all yours. Are you willing to pay the price?

What God Has To Say About Your Success In 2015

Does God Care 12015 is promising to be a fabulous year for you and me because we have taken the time to set out a road map that we are going to follow to achieve our goals and make a success of our plans.

If you have not crafted your road map for 2015, then visit this article and take the time to set out your personal life strategic plan.

But whether or not you already have a plan in place, did you know that God wants you to succeed. He has a plan for your success as stated in Jeremiah 29 v 11. In fact He has a lot to say about your success.

God wants you to succeed and He has some specific instructions for you on HOW you can attain success. I am going to share with you just four of the points that He tells you to take note of as part of your success plan.

  1. Commit All Your Works to God

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” Proverbs 16:3 (KJV). Whatever plans you have for 2015, God is interested in them. Do you want to start a business, create more income, be spiritually stronger, lose weight, spend more time with your family, restore broken relationships, God says tell Me all about it and seek My counsel on a daily basis and all of your plans shall be established. So beyond making the plans and writing them down, pray about them. Study the Bible daily for guidance and you will have extra ordinary success in 2015.

  1. Seek Wise Human Counsel

Do not attempt to go it alone. Proverbs 15:22 (KJV) says “Without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors, they are established.” Find people who have attained the goals that you are aspiring for, build relationships with them and sound your ideas off them. If you are having trouble finding such wise God-fearing people, ask God to bring them into your life. Ask and it shall be given unto you (Matthew 7:7).

How do you know they are wise? They are honest and uphold the same values as yourself. They are not afraid to be upfront with you. They are willing to help and are not jealous of your success.

  1. Work Diligently

Diligent work is meticulously, conscientiously, industriously and thoroughly done, producing a high quality product. Proverbs 21:5 “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness, but of every one that is hasty only to want”. Work that is done hastily is done without due care and the quality is substandard. Work that is done diligently will attract more customers and more profit. At the market place, be known for your diligence and your plans will fall into place.

  1. Take a Weekly Break

God designed our bodies to benefit from both labour and rest. That is why at the beginning of life on earth He established a seven-day weekly work cycle. Respecting that weekly cycle will not only benefit you physically but it will regenerate you spiritually and emotionally and will do wonders for your family relationships. Exodus 20:8-11 expounds on both the physical and spiritual significance of observing that weekly rest. Note that rest comes after work, so use the six days of the week efficiently and effectively and by the time you get to the seventh day, you will be needing the rest.

So confidently step out into 2015 knowing that you have a Supreme Being on your side to make sure that your plans for the year will succeed.

Dreams Do Come True – Only Protect Them From Dream Stealers

Dreams Do Come True – Only Protect Them From Dream Stealers

The main ingredient that drives entrepreneurship are dreams. Almost every entrepreneur that I have spoken to started their entrepreneurial journey with a dream they aspired to achieve. Now that you are embarking on the same journey yourself you will discover that there is a sub-species of the human race called dream stealers.

thieves

Dream stealers can be very obvious to identify and then again they can be so disguised that unless you can identify them, they will successfully steal your dream without you even knowing it. In most cases these people are motivated by either love or jealousy.

A Love That Over Protects

The love motivated dream stealers want what is best for you. They are people who are mostly close to you (parents, siblings, friends and close relatives) who see your choices as not properly aligned with what they believe is for you. You run to them excited with your dream and they have nothing positive or encouraging to say except to tell you how wrong your dream is and what you really should be doing.

Out of concern they tell you to play it safe. Why not keep your job instead of this uncertain route that you are on; at least you get a regular monthly income, guaranteed? Marry the girl next door; at least we know her and the kind of family that she comes from. Going on holiday, why not go to the nearest amusement park instead of the camping safari; you might catch malaria in the bush. They love you so much they do not want you to dare, lest you become disappointed when it does not turn out right.

The Haters Are Not Just Thieves, They Are Robbers

The jealousy or hate guys are what I actually prefer to call ‘dream robbers.’ You see a thief comes in the night and takes what he wants without necessarily harming you physically. A robber on the other had will take your stuff at gun-point and will even kill or maim if they have to get what they want. This lot are set to destroy you. They do not want to see you succeed, period. They may even feel threatened by your success.

Know How To Protect Your Dream From Thieves and Robbers

To realize your dream you need to know how to protect it from being taken away and if it has already been stolen, how to claim it back. Here are seven ways in which you can do that:

1. Only share your dream with people who will encourage, celebrate and support you. Spend time and talk to people who are full of love and encouragement for you. Do not tell anyone that you sense is unsupportive of you what your dreams are. For those who love you but do not understand, take a firm position and let them know that you love them and you will pursue your dream with or without their support. Keep those who cheer you on, lose those who oppose you.

2. Only Listen to the right people. Your brother-in-law with a can of beer in hand at every opportunity he gets and makes no more than $40,000/year is definitely not the right person to tell you that it is impossible to make $500,000/year. Just plug your ears to his words. Find people who have achieved what you are aiming for. Watch what they do closely, listen to what they say intently and mirror it.

3. Do not worry about what people think of you. Whatever you do, people will always have an opinion and there is absolutely nothing you can do to prevent them from formulating their opinion. Do not waste your energy worrying about their opinion. Focus your energy on doing what needs to be done for you to achieve your dream. Which brings us to the next point:

4. Do what you need to do to succeed. Never sabotage yourself by dreaming and then doing nothing about your dream. Do not give the dream stealers room to mock you because you did not even try. Get into the trenches and do the digging.

5. Have faith, not fear. Part of what would cause you to do nothing is fear. Fear is one emotion that dream stealers feed on. they feed on their fear to tell you what is impossible to do and they will destroy you with your fear once they sense it. Even when your insides are trembling, on the outside be confident, learn, be teachable and pursue your dream with confidence.

6. Do not steal others’ dreams. Be an encourager. Treat other people exactly as you would like to be treated by them. If people want to do something different from you, that does not make them wrong. Encourage others to pursue their dreams as much as you want them to encourage you to pursue yours.

7. Reward any progress you make. Give yourself a treat daily for doing something towards your dream and for making progress and hitting milestones. Even if it’s just looking in the mirror and telling yourself how awesome you are. Have some ‘me’ time and encourage yourself daily.

Keep that dream alive. Never allow anyone to steal it from you or rob you of your destiny.

Expect success….Get success. Some call it luck…..I call it faith and success by design.

Your Belief for Success in Network Marketing Must be Stronger Than the Opinions of Others

Your Belief for Success in Network Marketing Must be Stronger than the Opinions of Others

stolen dreams

About fourteen months ago a member of my network marketing team showed our opportunity to a friend of hers. She actually invited her to attend an opportunity presentation that we were holding at a venue in our city.

Our prospect for joining the business was very excited and left to go home and sort out her monies in order to join. Lo and behold two days later the story had taken a complete turnaround. She was not going to touch our business with a mile long pole because it was a pyramid scheme and could never work.

Naturally, my friend was very hurt by the way things had turned out to a point where she almost gave up working the business. Fortunately for her she decided to stay on and today, her business is taking a positive turn altogether.

Back to the other lady. Fourteen months down the line, my team member decided to go back to her friend to see if she would be interested in taking a look at our network marketing business opportunity again. The lady was connected with another of our team members who was having so much success in the business that she had qualified for a BMW vehicle.

During the discussions, she was told of a former work colleague of hers who had retired, saw our business opportunity and ran with it and was successful and driving a brand new BMW X6 courtesy of the company. Immediately the lady decided to join our network marketing team. She is now determined to make it work and qualify for her own car.

Imagine where she would be had she kept her initial belief and excitement and started the business fourteen months ago? Nothing had changed in the business since then. The same compensation plan that we showed her was still in place and the car reward was still in place as it had been when she first saw it.

One could ask what happened for her to change her mind and pull back in the first place? I will tell you what happened: she sought other people’s opinions and when they were negative, she bought into those opinions and made them facts. In other words she allowed other people to steal her dream. Now that she is seeing real life people who have done what she was afraid to do, she has suddenly become motivated and to believe once more.

One prays that she is not driven by envy of the success stories but is truly inspired that if they can do it, so can I. Envy is not a good motivator as it poisons the intentions of the doer. True inspiration by what others have achieved gives one a stronger spine to give it their best and succeed too.

BOTTOM LINE: Never, ever let anyone steal your dream. Make decisions based on your own personal conviction and never seek permission from another person to do what you believe is right.

I trust that you have been inspired to follow your dreams and to do all you can to make them come true

Cultivating Positive Thoughts Is A Deliberate Act

Cultivating Positive Thoughts Is A Deliberate Act

half empty glass

The world is full of gloomy people. Rather than see the glass as half full many people see it as half empty. The way that we have been raised has taught us to exercise caution to a degree where we paralyze ourselves. I am yet to see a cautious person who is truly happy!

Many are living in self imposed prisons with no walls. Do you have things that you truly want to have in life? Why do you still not have them? Just check your thinking for a few moments. What are the things that you believe you MUST do in life?

You, probably like most people do, listed things like going to work on time, doing the groceries, paying the rent, keeping on the right side of the law etc. Well, you may not have had an identical list, but what i want you to notice is the pattern. You listed the things that you MUST do as those that have a negative impact if they are not done.

Going to work

If you do not get to work on time, you will be fired. If you do not do the groceries, the family will starve. If you do not pay the rent, your landlord will throw you out. If you break the law, you will be thrown in jail. These are fear driven reasons for doing something.

Now let’s look at what it is that you WANT to do. Make your list. Did your list look like this: Live in the most beautiful house, go somewhere exotic on holiday every year, drive an expensive car etc. Hey these are very good things to have. If you should have them you would be happy too. Why do they seem farfetched for most people? Simply because we have been conditioned to live to avoid getting into trouble instead of living to have abundance.

Vacation

As children, nothing seemed impossible to us, but as we grew older we were taught to be realistic. Realistic means: ‘To fail is an option.” So no matter how good an opportunity comes our way, many are conditioned to think of the possibility of failure and because failure is associated with pain we pull back and avoid doing that which would give us the possibility.

Rather than look at the good that can come from taking certain steps in life, many are conditioned to look at the bad that can happen instead. WHAT/WHO is enslaving you and preventing you from getting what you want?

The Bible says ‘a mustard seed of faith can move mountains.” What it means is that a mustard seed of faith is ALL faith. Conversely, a mustard seed of doubt is ALL doubt! Faith is a positive state of mind; believing that something is possible! Doubt is a negative state of mind; not believing that something is possible. No mountain can be moved when there is doubt, no matter how much one WANTS for the mountain to move.

Time to thnk

If you want to live an extra ordinary life, you CANNOT afford the luxury of even a single negative thought. Quit this notion that you need to be realistic about life. REALISTIC is ordinary and it sucks! REALISTIC says to you ‘do not dare to dream because it just might not happen!’

You have the power to set yourself free. Of course when you embark on a life changing project, you are going to meet obstacles along the way. Because of the magnitude of what you want to achieve, some of the obstacles will even be dream stealing comments from the people close to you.

Take a Stand for Your Success!

You need to have a way to deal with the internal negative committee that sits in your head and clamors for your attention as well as the external negative comments that the people around you are saying.

The best way to deal with the negativity, whether internal or external is to embark on Advanced Individual Training. The decision to succeed is a moment, but the road to success is a process. It requires you purposefully deciding to arm your brain with positive messages so as to think positive thoughts. I am not talking about chanting your way into positive thoughts but rather feeding your brain with information that equips you to achieve the greatness you are aiming at.

Read books, listen to audios, watch DVDs that show you how and equip you for success. Do something on a daily basis that will make you better. Choose well the company that you keep. When you realize that certain individuals are pulling you down into the gutter with their words and attitudes, go on a season of separation from them and look for company that will reinforce what you are aiming for. Surround yourself with people who celebrate you. They say ‘birds of a feather flock together.’ If the birds around you seem to be a different species than you, look for your kind.

Motivation

So, folks the change you want to see in your life begins with your attitude. A positive attitude will move you towards your goals. A negative attitude will slow you down and even derail you. YOU choose your attitude!
