God Still Speaks To Us Directly

God speaks to us directly if we care to listen!!

WhisperIt has been a while since I posted in this category of mind body and spirit on the blog. That fact is actually a reflection of the imbalanced state that I discovered I had fallen into. Thank God for awakening me to my state and showing me what to change in my life.

He Spoke To Abraham

One of the challenges that you may be facing in your relationship with God is the answer to the question: “Does God still speak to us directly?” The Bible is full of instances where God ‘told’ His servants what to do. Just looking at the life of Abraham we realize that it was made up of a series of incidents where God spoke to Abraham and Abraham knew that it was God speaking. Just to mention a few:

• Abraham (when he was still called Abram) was told to go to another land
• He made a promise (repeated several times) to Abraham that he was going to have billions of descendants
• Abraham was told by God to go and sacrifice his son Isaac
• He shared with Abraham what he was going to do to Sodom and Gomorrah
• Etc.
So without a doubt the majority of the actions and decisions that Abraham took were guided by the words that came from the mouth of God. So the question still begs, is it still happening today that God speaks to us and we can hear Him?

He Has Been Speaking To Me

Recently, with the year rolling to an end and a new year looming ahead, I went through a reflective experience. I had achieved some of the goals that I had set for myself for 2015. I was beginning the process of planning for 2016. I had more questions than answers as to the place where my life was. So many things were not adding up and I was wrestling with how to plan for the future if I did not even understand how and why I was in the state that I was in.

At first I called on my logic for answers. Think as I would I could not put together why the right actions I took did not manifest the natural results that would have led to my achieving the majority of the goals that I could not meet. After much musings and a couple of nightmares about where my life was headed I realized that as a Christian and child of God, up to that point I had not included God in the process. God was at the back of my mind and I was expecting Him to somehow be a part of the process. Actually I am not even sure if that expectation was there at all.

I only mentioned His name when I was asking why I failed and the tone of my thoughts was more accusatory than acknowledging. When that realization struck me, I was awakened. It was then that the whole ball game changed. God became real to me and we have been walking and talking together for these last couple of weeks and it is an experience that I would like to continue for the rest of my life.

I wish it on you too. That is why in my next post I am going to walk you through how I personally came to the place where I am at. I have faith that someone out there is in need of that awakening. So as you plan for the coming year, while you go through the “what to dos” and the “how tos”, make God part of you planning process and by Him defining your whys, he will refine the mechanics of it all.

Blessed planning for 2016 (or whatever year you will be planning for the day that you read this article).

What God Has To Say About Your Success In 2015

Does God Care 12015 is promising to be a fabulous year for you and me because we have taken the time to set out a road map that we are going to follow to achieve our goals and make a success of our plans.

If you have not crafted your road map for 2015, then visit this article and take the time to set out your personal life strategic plan.

But whether or not you already have a plan in place, did you know that God wants you to succeed. He has a plan for your success as stated in Jeremiah 29 v 11. In fact He has a lot to say about your success.

God wants you to succeed and He has some specific instructions for you on HOW you can attain success. I am going to share with you just four of the points that He tells you to take note of as part of your success plan.

  1. Commit All Your Works to God

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established” Proverbs 16:3 (KJV). Whatever plans you have for 2015, God is interested in them. Do you want to start a business, create more income, be spiritually stronger, lose weight, spend more time with your family, restore broken relationships, God says tell Me all about it and seek My counsel on a daily basis and all of your plans shall be established. So beyond making the plans and writing them down, pray about them. Study the Bible daily for guidance and you will have extra ordinary success in 2015.

  1. Seek Wise Human Counsel

Do not attempt to go it alone. Proverbs 15:22 (KJV) says “Without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors, they are established.” Find people who have attained the goals that you are aspiring for, build relationships with them and sound your ideas off them. If you are having trouble finding such wise God-fearing people, ask God to bring them into your life. Ask and it shall be given unto you (Matthew 7:7).

How do you know they are wise? They are honest and uphold the same values as yourself. They are not afraid to be upfront with you. They are willing to help and are not jealous of your success.

  1. Work Diligently

Diligent work is meticulously, conscientiously, industriously and thoroughly done, producing a high quality product. Proverbs 21:5 “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness, but of every one that is hasty only to want”. Work that is done hastily is done without due care and the quality is substandard. Work that is done diligently will attract more customers and more profit. At the market place, be known for your diligence and your plans will fall into place.

  1. Take a Weekly Break

God designed our bodies to benefit from both labour and rest. That is why at the beginning of life on earth He established a seven-day weekly work cycle. Respecting that weekly cycle will not only benefit you physically but it will regenerate you spiritually and emotionally and will do wonders for your family relationships. Exodus 20:8-11 expounds on both the physical and spiritual significance of observing that weekly rest. Note that rest comes after work, so use the six days of the week efficiently and effectively and by the time you get to the seventh day, you will be needing the rest.

So confidently step out into 2015 knowing that you have a Supreme Being on your side to make sure that your plans for the year will succeed.
