Scared to Tell My Story – Doing It Anyway

What’s the thing you’re most scared to do? What would it take to get you to do it?

I know there is so much value in sharing my personal story, but it still scares the jibbers out of me. It requires being vulnerable to do so.

The scary thing about being vulnerable is the reaction of those who do not identify with where you have been.

Sometimes people who sailed through what you have struggled with find it silly that you call the bump a mountain 😊.

What it has taken for me to start writing the book about my life is the fact that those who need to hear the story would be deprived of the help in it. What jolted me was a realization that it would be selfish of me not to do so.

Ego Disguises Itself as Fear

It is easy to let our ego come between us and our purpose. Ego likes to masquerade as fear. Wanting to be understood by everyone is the downfall of many. We miss opportunities to make an impact by being too self conscious.

Be scared and do it anyway! Be misunderstood and speak out anyway! It may not be for everyone, but definitely even if one soul benefits, it will be worth it. If and when you hear the calling, don’t ignore it. Being right in your soul, and being of service is more rewarding than being correct with everyone.

Bible quote on this?

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

KJV 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

That experience, uncomfortable as it was, was for the reason that after you overcome, you be able to help the person that you used to be.
